In the Tampa Bay area, there are many local artists and musicians striving to make it big. One local artist is going above and beyond to reach success.

Starting out as a soloist and rapidly moving up in the world of entertainment, Christine L & The Reaction are moving up on the charts of ReverbNation, a popular music sharing website that allows independent musicians to share there love of music and their compositions. They are also performing at multiple locations, including the very popular and well-known The Market on 7th in Ybor City and The Ale and the Witch in St. Pete.

Christine, lead singer of the band, and Vincent, lead guitarist spend their daily lives devoted to their band and its success. Both Christine and Vincent have been interested in performing and the art of music since they were kids.

For Christine the musical “Annie” with the combination of singing and dancing really sparked her interest and brought out her hidden talent. Vincent began playing guitar around the age of eight and has been playing ever since. As a kid, Vincent’s father played a lot of Led Zeppelin and rock music, which served as his spark of inspiration. Over time with practice and determination both of the artists were able to bring their talents to the surface and allowed that spark to shine.

Even though the band is moving up in the world of entertainment, they weren’t always together.

Both Vincent and Christine started solo and decided to go to school to further educate themselves and develop their love of music. Christine and The Reaction joined forces about a year ago when Christine was introduced to Vincent through her vocal teacher and asked Vincent to perform with her at a gig that she had coming up.

Over the year, the band has grown and recently added two new members; a cellist who also is a pianist and a percussionist. “We are very excited about our success and it is even more exciting now that we had the opportunity to expand the band,” said Vincent.

Christine L & The Reaction’s excitement continues to grow as they are able to grab as many gigs and opportunities that come their way. Recently, the band played at many locations that are local to the Bay area, including The Market on 7th in Ybor City and The Ale and the Witch in St. Petersburg.

The band has also recently made three new music videos for their songs, “Invincible,” “Baby You Hurt Me,” and “Never Learn.” All three of their most recent music videos can be viewed on Christine L & The Reaction at Facebook.com.

The band focuses on making their music deep from their hearts and put a lot of time and effort into each and every song. The emotions and interests that their music evokes is too strong to label. “I usually feel a mixture of excitement and escape when listening to Christine and The Reaction’s songs. They’re always well crafted and interesting to hear,” said Ryan Guy, Audio Engineer for Christine L & The Reaction.

Both Christine and Vincent work very hard to keep the band going and both of the artists believe very strongly in if you love your craft, it will love you back.

The band really loves what they do and they always have a plan and are constantly thinking about their next step to help bring the band up even further. As Christine stated during the interview, “You have to love what you do and have a plan, be as positive, dedicated and professional as you can and you will be able to pull yourself out of the crowd.”
