Though their styles were vastly different, both artists astounded the world when they showed their groundbreaking creations. Dalí’s surreal, dreamlike paintings with Disney’s cartoons are powerful enough to awaken the child inside of any viewer, big or small.

These two innovators with big imaginations went on to create a short film together called Destino, which attendees can watch for free in the downstairs theatre of the museum.

The most amazing experience of this exhibit is the virtual reality tour.

A patron is sat down with headphones and goggles on, allowing the person to become fully submerged in multiple paintings of Dalí’s. With only eye contact, one is able to walk around in it for three minutes uninterrupted.

The landscape is nothing short of a fantasy, with the twilight sky resting on desert dunes as far as the eye can see. And the best part, it is at no additional cost and can be experienced as many times as one would like.

So why wait? Students can get in for free if they’re students of the University of South Florida. If not, all other students get a discounted ticket price of $17.

Every Thursday adults can get in for $10 between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Be sure to check out the garden and all of the permanent exhibits that reside inside the museum as well.

The Dalí Museum is located at 1 Dali Blvd, St. Petersburg, Florida 33701.
