Letter from Dr. Allen Witt

There are many things that make HCC South-Shore special. A stunning campus, outstanding teachers,
friendly staff, personalized support and a sense of community are frequently
mentioned. This friendly learning environment attracts nearly 6,000 students
per year to our campus.

SouthShore is a showplace of conservation and technology. Our campus is the first entirely
LEED Certified “Green Campus” in Florida. The facilities are designed to reduce
energy and water usage, encourage conservation and feature instructional
technology. Our wide array of online courses offers quality instruction without
commuting to campus. From the parking lots, through our classrooms and library,
SouthShore is committed to technology and the environment.

SouthShore offers all of the courses that you need to complete an Associate in Arts
Degree. In addition, the campus offers major courses in business, education and
biological sciences. If you are looking for a career, SouthShore offers degrees
and certificates in Registered Nursing, Emergency Medical Services, Paramedic,
Emergency Medical Technician and Medical Coding. The SouthShore Campus has a
unique relationship with Lennard High School (LHS), which is located directly
across the street from our campus. LHS students have the opportunity to take
afternoon classes at the SouthShore Campus. These students can complete the
first year of college before graduating from high school. SouthShore is one of
the fastest growing college campuses in the nation.
