Getting up in the morning is not a pleasant experience for most people. It can be a struggle to get out the door and face the day, especially for those who rely on driving down Bayshore Blvd, mornings have gotten tougher. The Platt Street Bridge connects Bayshore to down town Tampa has entered into a restoration project. It began on October 3rd and will end in January at the earliest. This has caused many of the 3,500 commuters who pass over the bridge every day, headaches and frustration.
This situation can be especially frustrating when you’re a student trying to get to an early class. Not only do you have to deal with the normal local traffic, you have to find you’re way through the maze of detour signs. You’re best bet is to turn on Howard or Bay to Bay, then to hop onto Kennedy and cruise through down town, though I know from experience these alternate routes take longer and can be quite stressful when you’re running late to class.
