An ambitious team of student leaders at the Dale Mabry campus has launched an exciting new initiative—“Hawk Talk,” a dynamic, school-themed podcast created to amplify student voices and spark meaningful dialogue within the campus community.
“Hawk Talk” explores a diverse range of topics relevant to student life, featuring insightful interviews with faculty and peers alike. From episodes like “How Do Politics Relate to Students?” featuring Eric Fiske, Professor of Political Science, to personal and practical discussions such as “Handling Relationships as a Student,” “Club,” and “Leadership from a Community College Perspective” with special guest Professor Lorenzo Carswell, the podcast offers something for every listener. Additional episodes like “Life of a Foreign Student” and “Romantic Relationships as a Student” further reflect the podcast’s commitment to representing a wide array of student experiences.
When asked about the inspiration behind “Hawk Talk,” host Adam Hoxhaj shared, “I felt like something was missing from the Dale Mabry campus. While there are many wonderful events, there’s still a sense of separation among students. I wanted to create a platform where we could connect over our shared experiences.” Cohost Ryan Ngwashi added, “This podcast wasn’t just made as a way to fulfill our own urges for creativity, but out of a need to promote student interaction and discussions. Perhaps our conversations will have radical effects throughout the campus.”
With bold plans for the future, “Hawk Talk” is more than just a podcast—it’s a movement. The team aspires to expand to other campuses and take on increasingly ambitious projects that uplift student voices and experiences. Just as this podcast continues to evolve, community college is a place for growth, self-expression, and discovery. We invite all students to engage, participate, and explore what they’re truly capable of—starting with a simple conversation.
