Whether you like cartoons, animes, video games, Star Wars, or role-playing games, Megacon is the right place for you. Even if you do not consider yourself a fully-fledged nerd, as soon as you enter the convention you will be greeted with astounding decoration, talented artists, and cosplayers who will instantly make you feel at home. Then, only moments later, you will feel the urge to acquire a ticket. This sequence of emotions is truly something magical and serves only as a teaser for the incredible megacomic experience that lies ahead.

Oh, but where to begin? That is the first question a person will ponder right after passing the entrance and encountering the hundreds of attractions. It really is a sight to behold. Every table, stage, shop, and even tower, offers a unique experience and is constantly competing for your attention. The amount of options and paths that can be taken to explore this gigantic pop culture jungle is literally infinite.

Each tabling event offered abundant items that anyone present would be interested in having. These included lightsabers, rare comics, superhero clothing, anime collectibles, backpacks, Katanas, and, of course, the Pop Funkos of fan-favorite characters. Most of which were exclusive to Megacon and could only be purchased right then and there at the convention.

In addition to the festivities and presentations in the upper levels of the building, it is safe to say that unless a person has tickets for multiple days, it would be impossible to fully experience all the content available in the main section of the convention center. Congratulations are in order to the event host, FAN EXPO HQ, for providing such a limitless experience.

Speaking of limitless experiences, Megacon also utilized the abundant theaters available at Orange County Convention Center to their absolute fullest. According to the schedule present on the FAN EXPO HQ website, over 300 shows and activities occurred in the span of four days between May. 19, and May. 22. These activities included film festivals, cosplay gatherings, escape rooms, celebrity meet-ups, storytelling, nerf wars, and plushie-building workshops. Additionally, almost all of these events had cameos from pop culture celebrities, including Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, Troy Baker, Kevin Conroy, Kevin Smith, Brendan Fraser, Nathan Fillion, Gina Carano, Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Martin Kove, and Giancarlo Esposito. All of these activities present were undeniably exciting, but this article will be concluded with two of the most popular: The Four Hobbits Reunion and Voices Behind the Games.

The Four Hobbits Reunion was by far the most anticipated event, featuring the actors Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, and Dominic Monaghan, who have played the hobbits Frodo, Sam, Pippin, and Merry in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The four guests were interviewed by fans, played games, told stories, told jokes, spoke about the filmmakers behind the scenes of the trilogy, made fun of each other, reacted to memes and fan videos of the trilogy, and at the end made the breathtaking revelation that they would not be opposed to working in New Lord of the Ring projects in the future.Another fan-favorite event that occurred on the same day was the Voices Behind the Games voice-acting panel. This panel features the illustrious actor Troy Baker, who plays Joel in The Last of Us series, Sam Drake in Uncharted 4, Pain in Naruto Shippuden, and Joker in Batman Arkham Origins. During his presentation, Troy makes a speech about how special the Megacon gathering is for him, and how he sees all of the audience and himself united as a group of nerds. He also talks about his experience as a full-time voice actor for almost 15 years, mentioning some behind-the-scenes development in The Last of Us Part 2 and even a conflict of philosophy he had with Niel Druckman, the director of the game. After answering some questions from the fans, Troy finalizes by teasing an ambitious game he has been working on and taking a group picture with escape rooms, celebrity meet-ups, storytelling, nerf wars, and plushie-building workshops.
