At the HCC plant city campus, PTK held their first clean up for their Adopt-A-Road on September 22nd.

  The road is 1.1 miles from S Frontage Rd and Wilder to HWY 92 and Wilder. They were able to clean 540 lbs. of garbage and 60 lbs. of recyclable material. The whole group was very surprised by the community’s reaction.There was one gentleman that was driving and had stopped to thank every member, stating that “My family lives on this road and I am very grateful that you all have taken the time out of your day to clean this up.” He even went on to say that he wants to give our organization a donation. There were also fellow neighbors that came out of their houses to thank us. There was one particular older woman that just came out of her door and thanked a group of us and asked if they wouldn’t mind helping her pick up a few things in her yard because she was disabled.

  This community service project has truly touched the hearts of not only the people that live on this small stretch of road in plant city, FL, but also the members of the PTK chapter that helped clean it.
